Committed to Accessibility: Making Banking Easier for Everyone

Date of last update: 22 January 2026

At Lunar Bank, we believe that everyone should have seamless access to their banking services. Our goal is to create an inclusive and accessible digital experience for all our customers. We are dedicated to meeting the accessibility standards, including those set by the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and ETSI EN 301 549 V3.2.1, which incorporate the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level AA).

Information regarding the accessibility of our services, including user manuals and this statement, is available directly within the Lunar mobile app as well as on our website. To ensure accessibility for all, this information is provided in both written and oral (audio) formats. Our support team is trained to provide information regarding the accessibility of our services and their compatibility with assistive technologies. If you have any questions or want someone to read this accessibility statement for you, please contact our support. We provide support through multiple communication channels to ensure that assistance is accessible to everyone.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Accessibility is at the heart of our design and development process. We continuously work to ensure our services are easy to use for everyone by:

  • Regular Reviews: We conduct frequent accessibility audits of our digital platforms, including our mobile app and website, to identify and address any potential barriers.
  • Continuous Improvement: We integrate accessibility directly into our design and development, providing specialized training for our teams and incorporating user feedback, including insights from individuals with disabilities, to refine our services.
  • Transparent Reporting: We maintain detailed documentation of our accessibility features and progress.
  • Easy language throughout the full user experience: We are committed to ensuring that all information provided within our service uses language that is easy to understand. This means that we will try our best to use a language that is accessible for everyone, regardless of how much previous knowledge you have regarding banking.

Our Journey Towards Full Compliance

We are actively working towards full compliance with the European Accessibility Act. New features and services launched are designed with accessibility in mind from day one. For our existing platforms, we are committed to achieving full compliance by June 28, 2030, through a phased approach that ensures continuous improvement.

Exemptions

While Lunar Bank A/S is committed to achieving compliance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and ETSI EN 301 549 V3.2, certain functionalities currently present technical limitations that prevent immediate full conformance. We acknowledge these current exemptions and are dedicated to continuously re-evaluating potential solutions and technological advancements to address these challenges.

  • Orientation (WCAG 2.1 Level A 1.3.4): The app is currently locked to portrait mode. Enabling landscape mode would require a major rewrite of our applications.
  • Text Spacing (WCAG 2.1 Level AA 1.4.12): Adjusting text spacing is currently not supported by the operating systems on which our apps run.

Known Limitations

We are currently working to resolve a number of identified issues to improve the experience for all users. The following is a list of known limitations based on our latest findings:

For the Lunar mobile app and the web-bank:

Navigation and Structure

  • Page Titles (WCAG 2.0 Level A 2.4.2): Not all pages in the iOS and Android apps have a title, which may make navigation difficult for some users.
  • Focus Order (WCAG 2.0 Level A 2.4.3): In some instances within the Android app, the focus order is not logical, which can affect navigation flow.
  • Info and Relationships (WCAG 2.0 Level A 1.3.1): Sometimes information is unclear or hidden for accessible technologies in both iOS and Android apps.
  • Meaningful Sequence (WCAG 2.0 Level A 1.3.2): In the Android app, the reading order does not always make sense.

Input and Control

  • Keyboard Support (WCAG 2.0 Level A 2.1.1): Amount and PIN input fields use custom keyboards that do not currently support device keyboard input or hardware input, posing a barrier for users relying on alternative input methods.
  • Focus Visible (WCAG 2.0 Level AA 2.4.7): Amount and PIN inputs use a custom input field that does not currently support a visible focus indicator.
  • No Keyboard Trap (WCAG 2.0 Level A 2.1.2): Further investigation is needed regarding potential keyboard traps in the Android app.
  • Pointer Gestures (WCAG 2.1 Level A 2.5.1): The contextual AI Assistant gesture is currently only available via two-finger gestures, which may interfere with other gestures. While accessible in other ways, it is not contextually available on each screen.
  • Name, Role, Value (WCAG 2.0 Level A 4.1.2): Not all controls have the correct name, role, or value attributes configured. This could result in a button being read like “Button local button”

Content and Feedback

  • Non-text Content (WCAG 2.0 Level A 1.1.1):
    • Controls: Not all controls have text descriptions.
    • Images: Clickable images may lack text descriptions, and not all decorative images are properly hidden from assistive technology.
    • Card Information: Full card information is displayed as an image and is not currently readable by screen readers.
    • Graphs/Charts: Textual representations are missing for graphs and charts.
  • Error Identification (WCAG 2.0 Level A 3.3.1): Not all UI components read errors correctly.
  • Status Messages (WCAG 2.1 Level AA 4.1.3): We do not currently announce all status messages to the user across Web, iOS, and Android apps.

For the Lunar webpage:

  • Video Accessibility: We are working on providing comprehensive captions and audio descriptions for our videos, especially those that convey important information.
  • Semantic Structure: We are reviewing and optimizing the underlying structure of our website (headings, lists, and landmarks) to enhance compatibility with assistive technologies.
  • Assistive Technology Compatibility: We are actively refining our website's compatibility with various assistive technologies, including specific menu and link behaviors, to ensure a seamless experience.
