Where can you pay with bitcoin?

Many online stores around the world are beginning to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a payment method. There’s still ways to go before you can pay with bitcoin everywhere, but there are still some options. Bitcoin ATMs.

There are bitcoin ATMs around the globe. Earlier, there were two of them in Copenhagen, but in June 2022 and counting they are no longer operating. Germany for example has 51 bitcoin ATMs, while Finland has 17. You can see an overview of bitcoin ATMs on the website CoinATMRadar.com .

Microsoft
Since 2014 it’s been possible to pay with bitcoin in selected Microsoft stores online. You can use bitcoin to deposit money to your Microsoft account, which you can then use to purchase Microsoft products.

Starbucks
In 2019 the coffee chain Starbucks announced that they were beginning to accept bitcoin as a payment method. They accept bitcoin through a partnership with the American company, Bakkt.

Tesla-ish
Tesla’s creator, Elon Musk, is known to be pro-crypto. In February 2021, Tesla invested large sums of money to buy bitcoin - corresponding to 1,5 billion USD.

But it’s still not possible to purchase a Tesla directly with bitcoin. In June 2021, Elon Musk also announced that as soon as more than 50% of bitcoin’s mining is based on renewable energy, Tesla will begin to accept bitcoin as a payment method.

Just Eat (France)
The take-away company Just Eat has made it possible for French users to pay with bitcoin. With that it’s possible to pay for food with bitcoin in over 15,000 French restaurants through orders from Just Eat.

Twitch
The streaming platform Twitch has made it possible for streamers to connect their Streamlab account with Coinbase. Like that, viewers can give streamers donations in bitcoin, ethereum , litecoin and bitcoin core.

Amazon-ish
The E-commerce giant Amazon accepts bitcoin payments to a certain extent. Through the platform Bitrefill you can purchase Amazon gift cards which you can then use to shop on Amazon.

PayPal
The payment company PayPal has made it possible to create transactions with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This means that you can pay with bitcoins through PayPal at more than 26 million companies around the world.

Cryptocurrencies can rise and fall.
